Safely returning home after a fire

Houses, sheds and other buildings or structures burnt in bushfires and grass fires can leave potential health hazards. These may include fallen or sharp objects, smouldering coals, damaged electrical wires, leaking gas and weakened walls. 

Hazardous materials that may be present after a fire, especially from burnt treated timbers and garden or farming chemicals.

The City of Ballarat has set up a Mt Bolton recovery fund with the National Australia Bank. Go to the CIty of Ballarat website for details about making a donation.
